Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced AWS Solutions Architect in Plano, TX, with a strong background in AWS cloud-native architecture, serverless application design, and enterprise-scale development.
This role requires hands-on expertise across AWS services, Python development, AWS CDK, and relational databases, with the ability to design, architect, and guide scalable cloud solutions. Candidates with higher years of experience are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect scalable, secure, and highly available AWS solutions
- Lead cloud architecture using serverless and managed AWS services
- Develop and review solutions using AWS Lambda, S3, Aurora, SQS, IAM, Glue, CloudWatch, and Lake Formation
- Define infrastructure and application architecture using AWS CDK (Infrastructure as Code)
- Collaborate with development teams to guide best practices for cloud-native design and deployment
- Architect data solutions leveraging Aurora, Athena, and MySQL
- Ensure security, governance, and access control using IAM and AWS best practices
- Support CI/CD pipeline integration and cloud deployment strategies
- Review application performance, scalability, and cost optimization
- Provide architectural guidance across the full SDLC for enterprise-level applications
- Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and stakeholder alignment
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
- 5+ years of professional experience in a developer or cloud engineering role (higher experience preferred)
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including:
- Serverless (Lambda)
- IAM
- S3
- Aurora
- SQS
- Glue
- CloudWatch
- Lake Formation
- 2+ years of strong experience with Python
- 1+ year of hands-on experience with AWS CDK (must-have)
- Strong understanding of AWS architecture, development, and deployment models
- Solid experience with relational databases and writing SQL (Aurora, Athena, MySQL)
- Proven experience designing and supporting scalable, enterprise-grade applications
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Angular / AngularJS and JavaScript
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps workflows
- Exposure to modern front-end and full-stack architectures
Certifications (Preferred)
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
