Job Description :
We are looking for a Full time/contract employee for an AWS DevOps Engineer. 
The State Health Analytics and Reporting Platform (SHARP) project is intended to expand the capacity of the current DSHS analytical infrastructure. An integrated approach to data services will aid in providing the most current data to inform decision-makers about the health and readiness statuses of jurisdictions across the state.
SHARP aims to create a data analytics platform plus data governance with Informatica Axon. The SHARP platform will facilitate the sharing, reporting, and analytics of the data collected from various ingested datasets.
All work products resulting from the project shall be considered “works made for hire” and are the property of the HHSC. HHSC may include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Workers) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by Texas law. HHSC will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Worker(s). 
HHSC IT is currently implementing an Analytics Platform with Informatica PowerCenter, Snowflake, and AWS technologies as well as Informatica Axon Data Governance with a goal to accomplish increased analytical velocity.  Job responsibilities include
  • Create, implement, and manage the development of scripts to automate everyday operations
  • Monitor and maintain multiple (DevOps) environments to increase observability
  • Coordinate system migrations and system upgrades working with the agency's public cloud manager.
  • Develop tools to continuously improve the maintainability, monitoring, security, and scalability of cloud deployments.
  • Operations support and enhancement of the SHARP platform
  • All other duties as assigned. 
  • Experience with planning, architecting, and implementing AWS Cloud environments
  • AWS Management Services experience (CloudWatch, ELB, EC2, CloudTrail and AWS Config), AWS workspaces, and AWS Directory Services
  • Creating, implementing, and managing the development of scripts to automate everyday operations
  • Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment tools and processes
  • Demonstrated experience with Linux administration and troubleshooting activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effectively manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize conflicting assignments, and switch quickly between assignments, as required.
  • Experience working in an agile sprint team.
  • Prior experience with an HHS agency
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
