This is a 6 month contract to hire position.
Candidates not interested in working for the state will not be considered.
This Senior Developer position will initially be supporting existing legacy Oracle web-based applications for the Department of Regulatory Agencies with an eye towards modernizing them. These include the payment system and HR suite at DORA, and several applications in the Div. of Insurance. The primary skills are Oracle database, Java front-end and, ideally, some past experience with C# Net) or with SalesForce.
This position supports applications based on Oracle PL/SQL. New applications will be primarily in SalesForce or Java while Oracle PL/SQL will be limited to back-end logic. Experience with HTML5, JavaScript and Cascading Style Sheets is highly desirable. Knowledge of Scrum principles and techniques and other Agile project management methods is also highly desirable since we use those methodologies for most of our project work.
The Senior Developer is focused on development activities including: working with business analysts and customers to understand requirements; working with team members to apply secure programming techniques using standards and best practices; documenting code for peers and testers; performing unit testing, managing configuration, source code control, deployment and release management; and providing support services as needed.
Operational support varies in scope from minor bug fixes (incidents) to enhancements (change orders and projects The Senior Developer performs all job duties without additional prompting by supervisor or team lead.
This position normally works at 1560 Broadway, Denver. However, while we are under the stay-home order, the team is working remotely.
