Software Developer

Direct Technology is in need of a skilled Software Developer for a two-year project in the Malibu, California area. The purpose of this project is to support the client’s existing SQL and access database, particularly some of their specialized applications and develop integrative tools and create statistical reports to support business activities.

Responsibilities Include:
Administer, maintain and update client’s custom-built applications, which includes over 10 different modules
Configure upgrades to existing Microsoft Access applications, SQP databases and .NET applications to increase operating efficiencies and adapt to new requirements
Design and develop new features for existing applications
Develop stored procedures to meet user requirements
Analyze business processes and reporting requirements, making process improvement recommendations as requested
Integrate and maintain interface between applications and clients OnBase, Topaz and Accela programs
Develop online public portals for SQL databases
Provide technical expertise for the implementation of electronic permitting services
24/7 technical support including assessment, diagnosis, documentation and resolution of issues in case of emergency

Mandatory Qualifications:

Municipal government with an emphasis of knowledge in development application permitting processing and environmental programs
Municipal records management and familiarity with records and workflow processes
Extensive programming experience in MS Windows environment Microsoft Office, VBA, VB.NET, C#, Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, Crystal Reports, HTML, XML, and JavaScript in a networked environment using Microsoft servers.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of computer systems, hardware, and software operations and principles.
Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of application development and documentation.
Software systems administration and systems analysis
Software system configuration, maintenance and problem resolution
Principles of relational database maintenance
Web development languages and best practices
Statistical report development
Project management principles and practices
