Position: AWS SySOp Administrator
Location: Lawrence, KS
Duration: Long term extendable role
Mode of Interview : In person (must)
Consultants need to be more than 9+ years -10 yrs min work exp
Responsibilities:
Assist in the design, implementation and management of Linux systems and network infrastructure including account creation/deletion, creating project environments and monitoring of systems.
Assist in managing host and network-based services including, but not limited to: email, web, DNS, DHCP, directory and databases
Manage Virtual Machine infrastructure
Work with development and technical teams to accomplish service implementation and deployment.
Carry out tasks/projects related to the systems and network infrastructure as directed by the IT Manager
Participates in system and network documentation efforts.
Provide 24x7 support on production Web, database and application servers; maintain an agreed upon response time for any incident; and perform system maintenance in the "off hours" as needed.
Perform other duties as reasonably requested by management (companywide job duty)
Learn about AWS cloud technologies and become proficient with AWS skills.
Knowledge:
General knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Windows desktop systems, Linux servers, common Linux-based software such as Apache, PostgreSQL, Postfix, iptables
Experience managing RHVM or oVirt and OpenStack.
A good understanding of resource monitoring and tuning Experience:
Experience working with OSX, AL2, and Microsoft Windows and basic TCP/IP Networking is required.
Experience working with Linux, PostgreSQL, Apache, Tomcat, iptables is preferred.
Experience installing configuring Windows and peripherals such as printers
Experience troubleshooting common AWS issues
Proficient in Windows XP/Vista/7, Linux, networking, SQL
Advanced troubleshooting skills
