Job Description:
The Project Manager will successfully lead the project team and is responsible for overall management of one or more projects in the IT program, both internal and customer facing. They work closely with the Program Managers and the customers to ensure that the scope and the direction of each project is on target, within budget, on schedule, and of high quality. They provide leadership, organization, project management, and coordination for successful execution of the project. They may also be responsible for one or more PMO group processes or activities in addition to their project assignments.
Job responsibilities include:
Manage projects based on defined PMO policies, processes, and best practices
Define all activities necessary to acquire project goals and objectives
Identify needed members for project team
Maintain concise and clearly documented project plan
Identify risks and issues impacting the project
Evaluate and determine plan variance from project performance
Oversee precise project results to identify if relevant quality standards are attained
Provide impact analysis on all stakeholders
Bring together subject matter experts throughout the organization to gather business requirements to attain project goals
Conduct change management throughout project inclusive of schedule, scope, cost
Collaborate effectively with project team members, other teams like infrastructure, other business units and Management to achieve project success
Coordinate with internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
Ensure proper testing methodology, implementation plans and back-out plans are created
Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
Experience/Skills:
Minimum Requirements:
Candidate must have previous project management experience in medium to large sized projects.
Ability to assess, plan, manage, and deliver IT and PMO related projects.
3+ years project management experience with demonstrated ability in successfully managing IT and PMO projects.
Expertise in using Microsoft Office; including Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, and Visio and the ability to document projects using MS Project and related tools.
Experience working within a matrix organization.
Experience managing wide variety of projects with Java/Mainframe as base technology.
Preferred Requirement:
PMP/PMI-ACP preferred.
Experience managing infrastructure projects.
Experience managing IT projects in public healthcare.
Education:
Associate or Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems, or Computer Science and Business Administration or equivalent work experience
