Job Description:
The Sr. System Database Administrator’s role is to install, monitor, maintain, and performance tune production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. This individual is also responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software and to provide best practice recommendations regarding database deployments/migrations/upgrades. The majority of the work for this position requires Microsoft SQL Server experience and will require some Oracle database experience.

Formal Education & Certification
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 8 to 10 years equivalent work experience.
Knowledge & Experience
Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and best practices.
Extensive technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting Database servers, including SQL Server 2012, 2016, 2017.
Extensive knowledge supporting Oracle Database environments.
Extensive experience with developing and deploying SSIS packages.
Extensive experience deploying and troubleshooting SQL Server Service Broker.
Extensive experience setting up and troubleshooting SQL Server Availability Groups.
Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience.
Agile Scrum Project management methodology experience.
Ability to quickly understand the organization’s goals and objectives.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws including Payment Card Industry compliance.
