The DevOps Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, driving best practices, evaluating and recommending tooling for enterprise deployments and software development life cycle automation. This includes providing solutions that are robust, scalable, and highly available. The DevOps Architect has experience with distributed-system design, which includes cloud-capable systems and deployments. The DevOps Architect also has a breadth of knowledge of many different types of software deliverables and is capable of writing scripts to support automations on various platforms.
Description:
5 to 7 years of experience in design and CI/CD automation of distributed Internet/e-commerce applications that support high traffic websites.
Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with management and peers.
A sense of urgency and the ability to meet deadlines.
Awareness and use of security technologies in eCommerce development.
Strong practical Windows and Linux-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment.
Experience building sophisticated and highly automated infrastructure.
Prior success in automating a real-world production environment.
Experience with seamless/automated build scripts used for release management across all environments.
Strong ASP.NET, JavaScript and C# programming skills.
Experience with configuration management tools like Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible in production environments with many nodes.
Experience building CI/CD pipelines with products like TeamCity/Octopus, Jenkins, Bamboo.
Experience deploying applications to public cloud systems i.e. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
Strong scripting skills, i.e., Powershell, Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl, etc.
Knowledge of IP networking, VPN''s, DNS, load balancing and firewall.
Familiarity with any monitoring tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Nagios, New Relic.
Experience with revision control source code repositories like Git, TFS, SVN, Mercurial.
Experience with automated testing tools (ie. Selenium, JMeter
Understanding and experience with code deployment (tagging
Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA and REST

Build standards and best practices as it relates to our software development life cycle, deployments, infrastructure as code and monitoring of distributed applications.
Teach and mentor architects and engineers to expand their knowledge of DevOps
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, as welll as provisioning, configuration management scripts and monitoring using existing and new tooling for software life cycle automation.
Code and document complex web applications employing current knowledge of enterprise application technologies and development techniques. Use best practices and industry standards to write solid and maintainable code and be adaptable and be able to pick up new techniques
Employ a core understanding of the software development lifecycle and of Quality Assurance techniques using source code control repositories, debugging and testing experience.
