Job Description:



The Systems Administrator II provides technical leadership, software support and technical guidance in support of business critical systems. This position assists in the implementation and support of services and architectures to provide solutions that are most appropriate for meeting specific application and/or business requirements. The ultimate implementation is based upon leveraging those technologies that are readily available to meet application availability and performance objectives. The implementation of these solutions includes providing comparative analysis from both an operational and architectural perspective. This perspective produces the ability to identify and recommend efficiencies that can be built into existing processes and procedures. These day-to-day tasks include the development and employment of monitoring techniques to maintain a proactive application/systems management approach.



The individual will be expected to:

-Install MQ/IIB fixpacks and iFixes, and support existing MQ environment.

-Resolve production, and non-prod. MQ related issues, work with the team to support other middleware products like Websphere, JBoss, and Tomcat.

-Troubleshoot and provide root cause for issues in PROD. and Non-Prod. environments.



Must Have Skills:

-Define/modify objects and manage Websphere MQ configurations.

-Work with development team to resolve messaging issues in prod. and non-prod. environments.

-Provide administrative support on middleware components like MQ, IIB, and WAS,

-Evaluate and apply MQ upgrades and support packs as required to solve production problems.

-Responsible for enterprise wide Websphere MQ messaging infrastructure.



Nice to have:

-Working knowledge of Websphere v7 or higher. -Scripting experience -Wily monitoring tool experience
