Responsibilities:
Propose, plan, facilitate, moderate and analyze results from user research, focus groups, usability testing and market research to cover both user behavior and attitudes
Leads the research process from developing recruitment briefs and discussion guides through to test moderation, analysis and report writing
Conducts research to test new product and concept developments (including user requirements gathering and early stage concept and prototype testing, guerrilla research, and other approaches to ensuring the user need is fully translated into design)
Works closely with business units, Product Owners, Product Managers and UX Designers to devise appropriate research strategies to generate focused insights and to convert concepts into high quality stimulus material
Works closely with designers and developers to turn research data into actionable product requirements that feed into prototype development, and influence product direction
Designs, scripts and analyses ad-hoc quantitative and remote studies using internal software licenses
Manages ad-hoc qualitative/quantitative research projects such as concept development, visual identity and customer experience mapping
Applies knowledge in human factors, ethnography, and the user-centered design process to product and service design in an iterative development environment
Presents findings and related design/business recommendations and customer insights to the teams including senior strategic decision makers

Required Skills
MSc or MA in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science, or Interaction Design preferred.
Minimum 7 years professional experience in user research covering digital interactive and high-volume, high traffic, consumer-facing web sites, mobile sites, IOS and Android applications.
Expert level experience with product discovery methodologies, formative usability testing and ad-hoc methods for testing usability and value of products and/or features in a fast-paced iterative environment, prior to development.
Expert level knowledge of human factors, cognitive processes, user-centered design processes, interaction design guidelines, usability methodologies, industry standards and trends, both formal and informal usability testing methods, remote (moderated) usability testing, as well as a deep understanding of web, mobile and device specific considerations.
Strong analytical, problem solving, decision-making and leadership skills are essential.
Ability to communicate complex topics clearly both in person and in writing.
Experience with user interface requirements documentation and workflow diagramming.
Ability to think creatively and to champion innovative design solutions.
Self-starter who can work and communicate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams with minimal direction.
General willingness to do what it takes to create great products and delighted users!
Not fazed by aggressive project timelines.
Highly proactive in suggesting research opportunities, improving team processes and evangelizing findings.
Qualitative research essential, quantitative research experience desirable.

Other Skills
Consulting experience is a plus.
Ability to travel when required.
Familiarity with Axure.
Experience of Userzoom and/or equivalent technologies.
Knowledge of Agile as a development methodology.
Knowledge of text heavy/content rich/B2B spaces e.g. publishing or big data and rich ways to present data is desirable but not essential
