Quantam Solutions is seeking a System Architect for the Commonwealth of Kentucky''s Office of Education Technology, Division of School Technology Strategic Planning and Project Management Services. Candidate must be able to attend an in person interview in Frankfort, Kentucky. This is an onsite position, candidate must be able to be onsite in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Purpose: This role will coordinate activities to establish a sustainable K-12 brokered services model centered on enterprise vendor providers, including developers, and management engagement necessary to support evolving design, delivery, capacity and scalability requirements of the Statewide Kentucky K-12 Internet and Active Directory (AD) initiatives. Candidate should have skill set specifically needed for continued success of this scale of K-12 education technology implementation lifecycles including-deep K-12 enterprise network systems design and implementation expertise, thin client architecture using Citrix and automated testing using Mercury Interactive Testing Tools as well as proven analytical capabilities needed to identify and derive potential solutions to K-12 enterprise level network and/or application problems.

Description
1) Facilitate statewide K-12 Architectural/Solution Design Sessions as compared to expected education outcomes.

2) Provide Architectural insight and research into statewide K-12 Cloud and solution brokering strategies as compared to on-prem technologies.

3) Review statewide Architectural/Solution designs for compliance with existing standards.

4) Ensure all implemented statewide K-12 solutions as designed are established with the appropriate vendor/partner supportability frameworks.

5) Provides high-level technical planning guidance for the successful implementation of new Kentucky Education Technology System (KETS) IT & IT enabled education initiatives and existing education technology services.

6) Ensure new and emerging K-12 education technology components introduced are strategically aligned, collaboratively engineered, and properly executed with a focus on enterprise efficiency, responsive supportability, and agency direction.

7) Coordinate lead architectural design activities.

8) Plan and manage the implementation process of associated software, hardware and service upgrades.

9) Relicense and transition K-12 education technology services to the cloud environment.

10) Produce technical documentation such as district readiness guides, migration schedules, transition plan and district test procedures.

11) Oversee proper interoperability and integration with existing KETS architecture.

12) Participate in project budget planning, TCO/ROI studies and project resource planning.

13) Review proposed RFIs and RFPs and responses.

14) Participate in agency and organizational IT strategic planning.

15) Utilize tracking tool to accurately record work effort against current processes in a timely and consistent manner. This position may require periodic on-call duty outside normal business hours to ensure that the supported systems are operating as intended and time sensitive deliverables are addressed. The on-call duties will be defined at the discretion of the client manager and/or the on-call policy for the organization.
