THE JOB / ServiceNow Technical Lead

As a ServiceNow Technical Lead, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing ServiceNow ITSM applications, and implementing and developing new applications on the ServiceNow platform. In this role, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of software developers and other IT professionals to support, maintain and enhance the ServiceNow ITSM application in support of the customer's mission. You will join a highly collaborative team focused on delivering high value to customers. Additionally, you will work in close cooperation with other developers, managers and product owners on project teams, and work independently on smaller efforts with limited direct supervision.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO »

· Develop, maintain and enhance applications on the ServiceNow ITSM platform (help desk/service management)

· Support the team in ServiceNow operations like user/group administration, reporting, metrics, SLAs, etc.

· Leverage both proven and innovative technology approaches to solve challenging business problems

· Provide technical assessments, written documentation and technical expertise

· Be available for on-call rotation to support any production issues impacting ServiceNow or its related systems within the enterprise supported by the team (rotating amongst the team, so approximately every 6-7 weeks)

· Support and enhance reporting solutions both within ServiceNow and through external reporting solutions to support the customer's strategic goals

· Contribute to the team’s efforts to consistently meet the KPIs and goals set by the customer

· Communicate with the customer in non-technical terms, understand their business requirements, and provide suitable solutions

· Work on continuous improvement by sharing experiences and knowledge within the team

· Provide quality and consistent service to the customer

Qualifications

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS »

· ServiceNow certifications, such as Developer, Systems Administration, Implementation Specialist, etc., are preferred

· ITILv3 Foundations certification is preferred

· Expert knowledge of the ServiceNow toolset and integrations with related systems

· Additional software development skills and/or the following technologies are strongly preferred:

o jQuery or Prototype libraries

o Java

o CMDB/Asset integrations in ServiceNow

o SAML, Active Directory, LDAP

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE »

· 2+ years ServiceNow development experience (including some or all of the following: Core ITSM applications, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Custom Apps)

· Experience with .NET development

· Experience implementing scripted web services in ServiceNow

· Experience following Agile Scrum development is preferred

· Experience with domain separation is a plus

EDUCATION AND TRAINING »

Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of software development experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience Our client is also open to considering a more senior person with additional software development experience.
