Job Description:
Kafka for XPAAS cloud Engineering
Responsibilities Include:
· Building and maintaining highly available Confluent Kafka Clusters and CSE Cassandra Clusters that will be consumed by the AMP applications running in our Cloud based PaaS environment.
· With your core understanding of Linux, clustering and networking, you will have an emphasis on also providing end to end Level 3 support for the the Confluent kafka Cluster and DSE Cassandra environments.
· Bringing Linux hands-on experience for Level 3 troubleshooting virtualization & possible future containerized environments.
· Working with distributed log analytics like Splunk and ELK.
· Building scripts using Linux scripting and or Python.
· Hands-on experience of using Ansible as an automation tool-chain.
· Devops experience related to Kafka and Cassandra infrastructures
· Kafka connectivity and Kafka integration with Java applications strongly preferred.
· Cassandra connectivity and Cassandra integration with Java applications strongly preferred.
· Having a good understanding of Cloud Principles and container based platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, and Redhat Openshift to support our customers use of Cloud Services is a plus.
· Overall 5 years of Technology industry experience with 2-3 Years of meaningful Kafka and Cassandra engineering experience
· Demonstrated professional expertise in a large Fortune 100 company running an IT Production Operation at scale including Infrastructure (Servers, Network, Storage, Security) and deployment of highly available Applications (Distributed, Middleware, Databases across all tiers)
· Experience working within an Agile led team for rapid and continuous development of work products
· Strong experience in Linux functionalities features and system administration
· Demonstrated working knowledge of high availability and Disaster Recovery implementations
· Strong knowledge of virtualization management in VMware Desirable experience
· Validated diagnostic, troubleshooting, and service restoration skills.
