Role : Weblogic Administrator

Location : Addison, TX.

Duration: 3-6 Months Contact to Hire

 

SR Systems Engineer (Weblogic Administrator):  Position performs engineering and architecture planning, construction, and support of key IT initiatives involving web services, microservices, messaging services, API management and other related technologies.

The position will focus on requirements, design, and construction phases, supports development, testing, and issue escalation.

Job Summary:

  • Hands-on experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of multiple projects and products (TIBCO/WEBLOGIC/TOMCAT) supported by the Information Systems (IS) group.
  • Develop and document, UNIX shell and Perl scripts, or java applications that will automate tasks and assist in reporting and monitoring.
  • L2/L3 support of the Middleware Platform: troubleshoot application failures and diagnosing performance or reliability issues of applications; assisting application teams in the use custom support tools.
  • Involved in projects which includes Organization, Research, design, and documentation of infrastructure solutions for large application development and production deployment projects

 

Job Functions:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve simple to highly complex technical issues related to Oracle WebLogic Application Server & related technologies such as J2EE (Java, EJB, JMS, Java Security, JVM, Performance Tuning ; Clustering etc).
  • Develop automation to perform repeatable platform build and maintenance tasks and reduce Tier 1 support work.
  • Automate remediation solutions for recurring issues.
  • Debug and drive resolution to correct internal and external infrastructure problems.
  • Gather troubleshooting data and participate in root cause analysis discussions as necessary.
  • Develop, package, test and implement quality infrastructure solutions.
  • Collaborate with development teams to deploy monitoring and alerting solutions for their applications.
  • Document and maintain procedures and system configurations for use in ongoing support and future efforts that require modifications to the infrastructure.
  • Assist in the adoption of Cloud infrastructure platforms and the integration of a hybrid architecture.
  • Provide all levels of support for assigned systems, including rotating assignment to provide 24x7 on-call coverage and monitoring system logs and messages

 

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in information technology preferred or a combination of equivalent education and work experience.
  • Certifications in Tibco and/or Weblogic technologies is a plus.
  • 4-7 Years of experience in Design / Development of J2EE Application, Administration / Configuration of Application Servers (WebLogic / JBoss / WebSphere, etc ) including the use of WLST and RESTful services.
  • 3+ years of experience administering WebLogic, 2+ years administering Tomcat, and Apache web infrastructure software.
  • Hands on experience in J2EE Server Technologies such as Java, JSP / Servlets, EJB, any J2EE Application Server - Preferably (WebLogic Application Server) is MUST
  • Experience in Server Side J2EE - JMS, Java Security ; Web Services ; JVM ; Cluster Technologies ; Web Services ; XML is MUST
  • Experience in operating systems (Linux, Solaris), networking and database preferred.
  • Experience creating and configuring monitoring solutions using tools such as Splunk
  • Exposure to other Middleware Products such as SOA, IDM, Portal, etc a plus.
  • Motivated to participate in continuous learning and personal growth through pair programming, code reviews, application of new technologies and best practices
