Job Title: Network Security Architect
Location: Remote
Duration: Contract - 6 months
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The position requires:
Ability to work with application owners as they work to migrate their applications from legacy data centers into new
Troubleshooting firewall and access issues
Working with firewall connection logs to understand application connection attempts
Strong network and routing knowledge including BGP
Understanding of DNS/DCHP/IP address management systems
Support flexibility: Production applications will be migrated off-hours (evenings and weekends) and ability to support during these times will be necessary
Comprehensive understanding of network security best practices and evaluating security requests for implementation
Knowledge of current cyber security threats along with steps and methods for mitigating these risks
Expertise in basic scripting languages (Perl, VBScript, PowerShell preferred)
Sound project leadership and organizational skills
Strong work ethic, enthusiasm and ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in network security
- Palo Alto or similar firewall expertise for system deployment and administration
- Skilled understanding of network routing protocols
- Thorough understanding of DNS/DHCP
Education :
- 5 years experience with BS, BA or advanced degree in a technical program desired
- Or CCISP or equivalent certification
