Duties:
Working with the Infrastructure Services and Software Development Life Cycle teams,
the Cloud Automation Engineer role focuses on the VMware vRealize suite of automation products.
The Cloud Automation Engineer will provide assistance and direction to assist with design, architecture, implementation,
integration and process definitions that will define the capabilities and understanding of what infrastructure can accomplish.
Provide expertise in the area of integrated application architectures in order show how best to apply vRealize solutions to solve complex IT problems.
Hold technical and business related discussions with stakeholders from various parts of the business
.
Use information gathered to develop an environment that resolves critical issues through automation and orchestration.
The engineer will need to have an approach to their engagements that will enable them to resolve known issues as well as recognize yet unknown issues
Skills:
Experience in managing performance and availability of mission critical applications, with a focus on virtualized environments
.
Significant enterprise scale project experience with the VMware vCloud Management Suite.
Knowledge of broader network infrastructure components (e.g. TCP/IP, Active Directory
Experience with SDN (software defined networking) including NSX.
Knowledge of Infrastructure provisioning process and infrastructure lifecycle management.
Knowledge of systems management including monitoring,
automated provisioning and lifecycle management concepts in addition to capacity, performance and event management.
Experience with DevOps practices and tooling, including Git, Puppet, and Jenkins.
Programming/Scripting skills preferred (e.g. Powershell, PowerCLI, Python, Java, etc
Experience with product APIs such as SOAP and REST.
Sound knowledge of VMware vRealize Orchestrator (vCenter Orchestrator
Strong vSphere skills required.
Experience with vRealize Automation (formally vCAC) is required.
Experience with vRealize Operations Manager (vROPs) is strongly preferred.
Experience with public cloud platforms, AWS and Azure preferred.
VMware SRM and BCDR (business continuity disaster recovery)
skills are preferred.
Education:VCP6-CMA (Cloud Management and Automation)
certification a plus.
