User Researcher:
Job Description
Client is looking to hire an exceptional User Researcher as part of their Client Interactive Unit. This position is part of a growing team of UX designers and researchers.
Are you highly skilled in using a range of research methods to conduct both self-driven exploratory research as well as participant based research? Do you have experience in organizing and conducting participant based data gathering activities? Can you help define the user experience by understanding user needs, motivations and behaviors? Then you are just the person we are looking for to help us develop next-gen digital solutions for enterprise level applications (deployed on smart phone, tablets, kiosks, desktops, anything with a screen is fair game). Our researchers assist clients by conducting user research studies at various points in the product development. They analyze the design and functional attributes of existing software solutions as well as help identify needs for as yet undeveloped applications.
A portfolio of previous work is required for consideration. Candidates should expect travel up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities
• Discuss projects with clients to understand the current status and needs
• Work with clients to define appropriate UX goals, metrics and KPIs
• Scope and plan user research activities that will yield actionable data
• Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research
• Collect and analyze user behavior (in-field or in-lab)
• Generate reports, user scenarios and other user research artifacts based on findings and data
• Present research findings to diverse audiences using both written reports as well as in-person meetings
• Identify potential research opportunities that might exist in other projects
• Communicate research findings to UX design team and product managers and translate those findings into functional requirements
• Conduct early stage design and feature definition activities and work with other designers to refine visual interaction, promoting consistency and efficiency
Must Have Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors, Sociology, Anthropology, or related field
• A minimum of 4 years experience with conducting user research for design projects
• Demonstrated experience of having used various research methods for participant based research
• Ability to stay on track with current academic and field specific research and apply it to designs
• A passion for keeping up with the latest technologies and user interface strategies
Nice to Have Qualifications:
• Masters Degree in Related Field
• Experience with interaction design or visual design work
• Ability to develop user testing prototypes ranging in fidelity from paper sketches to visually accurate clickable documents
