Position: UI/UX Designer

JD: Required:

Successful candidate to work within UX design department alongside other UI/UX designers. He/she will collaborate with closely product stake holders; Software Development, Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Design, Commercial, and System Engineering to create UI Design System deliverables ranging from UI Kits, style guidance, iconography, medical illustrations, other graphical artifacts for surgical instrumentation product development. Remote work is optional, but occasional onsite availability desired to foster hands-on understanding of the device to make informed design decisions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a surgical instrumentation UX design team to build design system UI elements (for ex. menus, tabs, and push buttons) for intuitive and robust user surgical device digital interface. And collaborate within cross functional project team to achieve branding/UX harmonization within a suite of medical products.
  • Gather and evaluate user/system requirements in collaboration with project stakeholders (UX/UI leads, software development team, commercial, system engineering, industrial design, clinical application specialists, and end users) to inform/design visual design artifacts.
  • Create UI specifications design patterns that includes UI element behavior within surgical device design system.
  • Create and manage design system assets for internal customers like project UX designers, GUI harmonization guidance designers, front-end-coder, and software development team.
  • Create rasterized graphics for software development team s implementation into graphical user interface. Create medical illustrations to aid in medical device setup instructions with the graphic user interface.
  • Build design system deliverables in accordance with medical device standards like ANSI/AAMI HE75, 2009 Edition: Human factors engineering Design of medical devices.
  • Combine creativity with an awareness of the design elements.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of experience in medical product development as a UI/UX designer
  • UI design portfolio with design system examples that include design pattern/behavior specification is a must.
  • Design examples that convey accordance with medical device standards, like color contrast ratios and touch target sizes/clarences.
  • Strong understanding of UI element design patterns and how they are to be used within digital interface so users may perform tasks efficiently.
  • Experience with WPF code is a plus, but not a requirement. An understanding of WPF UI elements properties and control states helps in making informed design decisions.
  • Experience in Human Computer Interaction and Human Factors Engineering disciplines is a plus
  • Problem solver and customer-centered.
  • Knowledge in range of A e products including Illustrator and Photoshop and other industry standard UI/UX design tools. Must have intermediate to expert
  • skills in with A e XD. Skills in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Project and Visio
