TITLE: Sr. Salesforce Developer
LOCATION: Denver, CO
Position: Contract

ROLE PURPOSE:
The Salesforce.com Developer, a key member to our Distribution Applications Team, will be responsible for the hands-on technical aspects involved in delivering Salesforce.com, and Systems Integration projects - primarily focusing on application architecture, design documents, Salesforce.com configuration, and custom code development using lightning components, Salesforce APEX trigger code, APEX class code, Visualforce, SOAP/REST Web Service API, and some Javascript, JQuery, and HTML, but also any other related technical items (such as workbench, data loader and external application integration The Developer is expected to have extensive experience in applications development, software engineering / development, focusing on, but not limited to Salesforce technologies. This role will be responsible for the detailed design of technical solutions, Proof-of-Concepts (POC), assist in creation of technical design and functional specifications. Provide effort estimates for assigned modules and will document the technical design, throughout the use cases, development, testing and support phases. This role will act as a central point of contact for Salesforce.com development projects, maintenance and user support. Participate in the planning and analysis of business system requirements for system changes and enhancements in coordination with business users, management, and IT resources and/or vendors. Responsible for the administration and ongoing support of Salesforce.com and other systems integrated with Salesforce.com.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Hands on knowledge with Salesforce lightning and lightning components.
Proficiency in Apex (or similar object oriented language like Java), Visualforce, Web Services, and SOQL
Knowledge of JSON, Javascript, JQuery, and HTML a plus
Working knowledge of data structures and understanding of data migration
Proven ability to learn technical concepts and translate them to the appropriate audience
Ability to recognize opportunities and provide solutions for improving systems
Understanding of the full application lifecycle from inception through maintenance
Perform requirements gathering, planning and development of CRM solutions, leveraging best practices.
Support both project and on-going support/maintenance activities related to Salesforce.com integrated systems.
Develops in-depth knowledge and proficiency of supported business areas and engages business partners in evaluating opportunities for process integration and refinement.
Ability to develop strong relationships with managers of customer/user groups to support user adoption, ensure proper use of Salesforce.com, and productive growth and change around the application and corresponding business processes.
Conducts research on best practices and industry/functional trends specific to Salesforce.com.
Identifies specific business requirements as communicated by a sponsoring business area, including cross-referencing requirements articulated by multiple business areas.
Ability to take a lead role in cross-functional and cross-departmental change management and facilitate productive discussions around proposed application feature/functionality enhancements and to ensure these changes are consistent with executive vision.
Assist Project Managers in determining high-level project goals that serve as benchmarks of overall project/product success.
Prepares status reports and presentations for various types of audiences and levels of management as required.
Assesses complete project work plans and executes assigned tasks/ deliverables according to defined timetable in a quality, detailed and timely fashion.
Assists in the development of testing, training development/support, and launch plans as required to aid in delivery of a quality product, designed for user acceptance and adoption.
Working knowledge of Pardott or other email blast or Marketing Automation applications a plus.
Utilizes the change management system and version control systems. Working knowledge with DevOps.
Operates as primary system administrator and application configuration expert for Salesforce.com, including but not limited to the following activities:
o Configuring standard UI options for groups of users
o Creation or deletion of custom-defined fields in the application
o Updating of custom-defined page layouts and record types
o Developing or modifying custom workflows
o Maintaining the Role Hierarchy and Territory Management Rules as the organization changes structure over time.
o Maintaining security profiles and access rights for users within the application
o Configuring shared, custom reports
o Escalating issues to Salesforce.com Technical Support as required

Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately while meeting applicable productivity measures
Must be able to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned

OTHER FUNCTIONS: Assumes additional duties as requested or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
5+ years designing, developing and implementing custom applications/components
3+ years developing custom data integrations between multiple systems or databases
3+ years hands-on experience with Salesforce custom development is required
1+ year working in lightning environment is required
Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, Web Services, SOQL, Javascript and HTML
Experience with Salesforce.com API, REST API is preferred
Experience in analysis of business process, workflow and modeling.
Experience in analysis of computer applications that cross numerous operational and servicing disciplines.
Experience working with various types of service vendors in the Information Technology and Mutual Funds industries.
Experience working in a task-oriented environment by where project management practices and disciplines are the key method towards job execution.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate information technology concepts to non-technology personnel.
Strong interpersonal skills, with all levels of management, staff, vendors, contractors, and consultants.
Preferred: Certified Salesforce Developer

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
Must be Salesforce.com certified (any certification)


WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
PC usage up to 100% of the time.
Office equipment such as telephone, copier, and fax machines, etc.
Cellular phone or digital pager may be required.
Overtime and weekend hours may be required.
