Title: Teradata SDET Engineer
Location: Bellevue, WA (local required/no travel reimbursement)

Duration: 6+ months

The Teradata SDET Engineer will translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build test systems in partnership with other engineers within the team.

Experience with Teradata DB and Utilities a big plus

Responsibilities

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop, implement, and sustain test automation process, practice, and control in support of application and system requirement and develop test activities throughout the software development and sustainment lifecycles.
Consult on test automation strategy, requirement, design, implementation, and execution.
Create, maintain, and perform high quality code for automated test cases and the frameworks to execute and report them.
Provide internal presentations on relevant skills and tools that support Continuous Testing.
Contribute to Test Community of Practice to evolve testing practices, quality standards, and tools.
Monitor testability of requirements and/or user stories and provide estimates for testing user stories and tasks.
Provide input to all test activities and coordinate defect management.
Interface with external teams on test strategy and ensure alignment to test execution.
Design, develop, and maintain automation systems and tools to be used by development and test engineers.
Analyze code coverage using industry standard tools such as SonarQube.
Create automated tests integration into the Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
Design and author test cases for unit, functional, performance, scalability, and durability testing.
Benchmark above test results and ensure threshold are met.
Groom the automated and manual test suites regularly to ensure proper balance between coverage and fast feedback cycles.
Coordinate with Dev and Ops teams regarding testing practices and ensure quality thresholds are met.
Influence and drive quality across teams, disciplines, and the organization.
Participate in design and code reviews.

Qualifications
Experience in Application Development preferably in wireless industry and/or finance function.
Experience in designing and developing enterprise integrations using architectures such as SOA.
Experience in ETL / In Database Processing.
Stored Procedures, SQL queries, data analysis, and validation.

Experience with Teradata:
Loading data into Teradata production and development warehouse using BTEQ, FASTLOAD, FASTEXPORT, MULTI LOAD, and ETL Tools like Aptitude or Informatica.
Experience in creating stored procedures to enrich, validate and load data.
Experience in performance tuning, ETL mappings and high-volume databases.
Experience in development languages e.g. JavaScript, J2EE, Linux Shell.
Experience in tools - Rally, Jenkins, Maven, GIT, Sauce labs.
Has experience mentoring other members of technical/development staff.
Has experience working with at least 3 business applications/systems and has also provided tier 4 production support.
Experience identifying and effectively deploying system monitoring solutions and establishing and measuring service level agreements for these systems.
Has development or testing experience preferably in CI/CT/CD, and Agile CI/CT or DevOps environment.
Experience in Test management platforms like Q test or Quality Center.
Experience with Job Scheduling tools like Control-M/Tidal.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with Hadoop:
Experience with HDFS, Hive and Sqoop.
