Title: BigData & Hadoop Architect
Location: Bethesda, MD
Responsibility /Expectations from the role
12+ years’ experience in information technology application design or development.
Must possess AWS Cloud Certification.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification
Possesses extensive hands-on experience as a BigData & Hadoop Performance Specialist. Must have senior level skills with storage performance analysis, tuning and reporting.
Perform all monitoring activities with respect to Supported Cloud Applications.
Review all monitoring activities and make requested adjustments to monitored parameters, thresholds, frequency of monitoring and minimum time to monitor before alerting;
establish and activate monitors to measure thresholds and alarmed conditions to support investigatory activities;
Analysis, reporting, create scripts, Data Aggregation, Forecasting and create capacity management requirements.
Preferred:
Provides all Performance Management activities for all Clouds AWS systems in large data center environment.
Performs ongoing monitoring and analysis and makes recommendations for performance improvements and efficiencies resulting in peak performance and optimization of resources;
Creates and analyzes ongoing performance reporting (scheduled and ad-hoc) and analyzes usefulness or changes needed to best achieve performance objectives. Works with team to make necessary recommended adjustments in performance and executes change in a timely manner.
Reviews performance reports with management on a regular schedule before distributing;
Provides assistance as needed to customers, Project Managers, operations, and other systems support and/or technical teams
Works independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results and performance deliverables and Identifies high utilization workloads.
Participates in problem management and change management
Requires excellent communications skills, both oral and written, to communicate with internal and client project team members and management, and an ability to summarize and easily communicate complex concepts tailored to level of complexity appropriate for the audience
Technical/Functional Skills
Big data, Hadoop, AWS Cloud Certified, Hive, SQL, Unix, Shell Scripting, Performance Engineering.
