Job Title: System Admin/Infrastructure Admin
Location: Greenville, SC 29607
Duration: 6+ Months (High possibility of extension)
Note: Candidates need to have a good knowledge of enterprise data center operations and architectures, server and storage teams, server hardware and operations. General understanding of how applications work with storage. Hitachi SAN storage and Dell EMC NAS as types of hardware.
Position Purpose/Scope:
Technical lead, responsible for coordinating the planning and implementation of the life cycle management and maintenance of IT Computer Infrastructure such as servers, storage equipment, and systems management components. Runs complex technical projects and ensures long-term requirements of systems management and planning. Serves as main point of contact for Windows Server Operations topics for all business units in the Americas. Requires high-level knowledge of various business processes for multiple business units in addition to in-depth knowledge of all ITIL processes
Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Leads the planning, implementation and maintenance of Windows Server infrastructure that performs to defined business expectations.
Ensures system availability, redundancy, backups and recoverability (installations, upgrades, patches, preventative maintenance, high availability, etc by steering operational processes surrounding Windows Server Operations.
Works closely within the global network of Windows Server Operations and ensures standards, operations processes and procedures are aligned and follows the directions of function “Windows Server, FZ-440”. Ensures overall adherence to the Group Strategy.
Establishes and maintains technical security architecture, availability, overall performance and maintenance activities.
Provides infrastructure and tools to manage server access control and implements secure systems that meet or exceed defined standards.
Provides technical direction to Contractors to ensure service delivery and complete customer satisfaction.
Runs complex projects ensuring they are completed on time and within budget with only general direction from management.
Develops reports to ensure SLAs are met and all processes are followed.
Participates in Group IT projects.
Provides and maintains documentation of all installed solutions for windows server operations in the Americas.
Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts. Stays up to date on future innovations, technical trends and applies this to direct future changes. Has knowledge of the solutions available as well as best practices for the business processes.
Serves as an IT project manager for small-medium sized projects overseeing resources assigned, conducts status meetings, and effectively communicates the project status to stakeholders as delegated by the Department Manager (Information Technology
Develops project plans, administers the change control process and ensures that tasks are completed on time and within budget.
Provides all local support for Active Directory/Antivirus including coordination of small and large-scale changes with the appropriate operations and business groups.
Completes budget, capacity and investment planning, and long range planning for the US based server infrastructure for the Infrastructure Management Team.
Position Competencies:
Education: BS/BA degree and 2 years of related experience in Information Technology or the equivalent of 6 years of related experience in Information Technology.
Experience: 6+ years of technical experience in Information Technology to include administrative. Experience with computer infrastructure and Operating System platforms in a production environment.
Licenses and/or Certifications: Operating System Certification for Windows Server platforms. Storage and Storage Area Network related certifications (Preferred)
Expert = knowledge of Operating System management, virtualization technologies and development techniques, management of server- and interfaces for high-end storage hardware components and related software and systems management tools.
Expert = working knowledge of PC desktop tools
Advanced = knowledge of networking, storage management, recoverability, redundancy and performance tuning concepts, high availability architectures and solutions (clusters)
Advanced = knowledge of database systems from a server operations perspective such as SQL Server on Windows
Advanced = communication and organizational skills to manage vendors, interfaces, and processes
