SRE - DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a site reliability engineer (SRE) to empower our users with a rich feature set, high availability, and stellar performance level to pursue their missions. As we expand our customer deployments, we are currently seeking an experienced SRE to deliver insights in real time. Ideal candidate would be someone who brings fresh ideas, demonstrates a unique and informed viewpoint, and enjoys developing robust code and collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop positive user experiences at every interaction.

Essential Functions

  • Work on emerging technologies, building distributed applications
  • Collaborate with project team members (Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, Software Engineers, Project Managers, etc.) to ensure development and implementation of new data driven business solutions.
  • Ensure "operational excellence" capabilities (usability, availability, resilience, security, etc.) are assessed, planned and built into the platform.
  • Ensure platform meets security compliance criteria at all times
  • Identify and implement opportunities in the platform that will drive improvements in performance, scalability, reliability and re-usability.
  • Drive down technical debt and cost of operations/support.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 6 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree
  • Prior experience with full-stack monitoring from system level metrics to SLOs, failure-based testing approaches, alerting and monitoring strategies
  • Coding experience beyond simple scripts
  • Proficiency with Linux and Unix shell.
  • A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
  • Experience in using tools such as splunk, sumologic, catchpoint

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in implementing  Continuous Integration or Continuous Delivery pipeline. Working knowledge and experience in CI / CD tools like Jenkins, GIT
  • Experience leading a team and experience of being responsible for delivering large projects successfully.
  • Experience with data and site migrations
  • Ability to work quickly in an agile environment, part of an on-call rotation duty among other engineers.
