Sr BI Project Manager @ St. Louis, MO for 12+ Months contract
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for leading all Capital Development projects for the Viewership BI team to deliver data and reporting involving Cable Programming Viewership insights to multiple business stakeholders including Programming Analytics, Marketing Science and Product. This role oversees a complete delivery team including business data analysts, ETL big data developers and report developers dedicated to assisting our client efficiently and effectively organize and deliver high-quality BI products that align with current business needs.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead the technical solutioning, delivery, and support of BI projects for data, reporting, and analytics.
· Manage team of BI Analysts and Developers responsible for designing and building data and reporting assets used to gather business intelligence (BI
· Manage projects through entire BI software development lifecycle.
· Provide technical guidance to BI developers and analysts to enhance daily productivity and help solve technical and business problems.
· Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
· Completes status updates on critical initiatives in a timely manner.
· Present data in a fashion that is easily consumable with proper documentation for successful user adoption.
· Communicate data integrity issues, nuances, and insights to all levels of the company.
· Provides leadership in defining business-critical metrics and analyses that drives the business forward.
· Utilize SQL, Hadoop and Teradata to query data to provide information requested by business users.
· Manage the delivery of projects through entire BI software development lifecycle including, gathering data, acceptance testing, and packaging the final product for end-user adoption and consumption.
· Establish best practices for coding, development, and implementation processes.
· Partner with BI leadership and key business stakeholders to manage a portfolio of high-value, business-critical information delivery.
· Create and maintain report documentation, data dictionary, and training materials for customers.
· Provide guidance on the interpretation and application of BI products.
· Oversee the architecture and development of MicroStrategy configuration objects, schema, reports, dashboards, and visualizations developed for Viewership BI.
· Influence architectural decisions based on platform needs and tool usage to support the BI architecture.
· Perform data warehousing activities using Dimensional Modeling, Star, Snowflake, Hybrid Schemas, and Data Mart.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required
Ability to mange multiple concurrent projects and tasks
Ability to understand data warehouse modeling
Experience in interacting with databases through SQL
Understanding of MicroStrategy BI toolset
Past experience delivering BI projects following a mature BI SDLC
Education
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology or business related field, or equivalent experience
Related Work Experience
IT experience in the areas of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence 7+
Experience providing data integration solutions in large-scale enterprise 5+
environments primarily using MPP databases such as Teradata, Hadoop, Spark, Hive
Supervisory experience with experience managing multiple teams consisting 3-5
of employees and contractors
Experience as a ETL developer, MicroStrategy BI developer, architect, or other role 3+
involving daily interaction with development practices
Experience involving daily interaction with software development practices 2+
Supervisory experience with experience managing multiple teams consisting 3-5
of employees and contractors is strongly preferred.
Experience with Cable TV, Internet, and/or Phone products & services or
other related industry experience is a plus
