Job Description:
  • Work to join infrastructure to a cloud management platform, central management, and monitoring tools.
  • Documentation and knowledge transfer, such as acquiring, maintaining, and providing solution documentation to other team members, IT and business areas, logically storing project files, and cross training.
  • Improve and maintain network monitoring software as well as implement new monitoring on as needed basis
  • Collaborate with IT, managers, and other stakeholders to develop an action plan for improved operations
  • Prepare written and verbal presentations and reports. Provide management with timely and accurate status reports.
  • Keep customer base informed of changes and issues within the network environment.
  • Model a strong work ethic and take the lead on a variety of initiatives. Be flexible and willing to adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Understanding concepts of cabling infrastructure (Layer 1 - Fiber, Copper), common wired network devices, IP telephony, two-way radio, local area networks, wide area networks, wireless access points, microwave radios and potential connectivity issues for each.
  • Understanding concepts of hardware, software and peripherals used in a common business environment. Includes PC computers, Servers, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Server, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Communication skills (written and verbal English is a must). Ability to work well with people and assess each customer's individual needs. Need to be able to communicate with people and businesses outside of the organization and company, which may include business stakeholders, vendors, and service providers.
  • Strong customer service ethos with experience in change management.
  • Excellent organizational skills including accurate records keeping and proper documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, self-organize, follow through without reminders, follow up, multi-task, follow processes and policies (including environmental & safety), and act as a contributing member of a team environment.
  • Experience with project management. Ability to manage projects as well as be a resource for projects.
  • Education: College graduate in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field required; Equivalent work experience pertaining to information technologies and / or telecommunications may be acceptable.
  • Certifications / Licenses: Experience and / or certifications with Cisco, Cambium, Solarwinds, or other relevant certifications would be a plus.
  • Experience supporting IT systems and networks.
  • Experience with network monitoring and alerting tools such as Splunk, Nagios, DataDog, SolarWinds or other network management tools .
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, user account management, and multi-factor authentication
  • Knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry and ICS environments.
  • IT certifications are desirable such as GICSP, Cisco CCENT/CCNA, CompTIA.
