Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Software Development on the installation and updating of custom applications. Performs file share administration for all enterprise servers.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves system errors, failures and other issues that may involve a combination of hardware, operating system, internally developed and vendor application software and database structure configuration, resource conflict and/or interoperating problems;
  • Installs, configures and tests computer hardware as well as standard and specialized credit union software to meet end-user profiles and computing requirements; establishes and configures network connectivity for hardware devices; analyzes software and adds, modifies or deletes components; customizes settings; installs and administers print services; backup and restoration of system files; creates and maintains system configuration images
  • Diagnoses and resolves hardware, software and network connectivity problems; replaces components and performs other preventative maintenance and repair; applies and/or updates hardware drivers; coordinates upgrades with end-users and outside vendors; analyzes and optimizes performance through adjustments and upgrades.
  • Maintains and inventories desktop images using WDS and SCCM.
  • Diagnoses server network errors; configures, installs, uninstalls or updates network settings and drivers; replaces components and performs other maintenance and repairs.
  • Installs and configures replacement equipment and cables; evaluates computer hardware and makes recommendations regarding repair or replacement; requests, coordinates and schedules repair of hardware with outside vendors and documents repairs.
  • Creates and runs custom SCCM queries and reports; creates macros and automated functions based on user requirements.
  • Audits inventory and keeps current records of all resources.
  • Documents and processes departmental work, including but not limited to; verifying for accuracy and completeness, performing research, scanning and filing documents and other materials, retrieving and releasing documents and records.
  • Performs specialized data entry to prepare a variety of standard materials, documents and reports; updates computer records and databases; completes and processes standard forms related to areas of responsibility.
  • Maintains up-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional associations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Required - 4 Year / Bachelors Degree - Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or a closely related field
  • Preferred - MCSA Server Administration certificate is highly desired

Experience Requirement

  • Required - 3 Years - Desktop support and application support
  • Preferred - Experience in a complex multiplatform/server operating systems environment

Skills/Abilities

  • Server and PC hardware, software, operating systems and characteristics.
  • Client/server data processing systems and peripherals, including machine capabilities and applications potential.
  • Principles and practices of disaster recovery.
  • Database management systems and software, including architectures, diagnostic tools, commands and utilities; tools and utilities used in monitoring and tuning database and application performance.
  • Perform routine to moderately complex systems troubleshooting and tuning to resolve complex systems management, communication and interoperating problems.
  • Advanced principles and practices of computer platform and operating systems; including methods and procedures for establishing network connectivity.
  • Data communications standards and protocols.
  • Methods and techniques for the installation and configuration of hardware, software and network connectivity.
  • Methods and techniques of troubleshooting to determine causes of computer hardware and software problems and device errors and failures.
  • Install, configure and test PCs, peripheral equipment and devices.
  • Install and maintain Server applications for Software Development custom applications
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve difficult and ambiguous computer and PC hardware, software and network connectivity problems and make modifications and repairs.
  • Effectively apply internal and external customer service practices and processes to meet quality service standards and achieve member satisfaction.
  • Resolve problems utilizing advanced knowledge and experience.
  • Communicate in a professional manner and deliver information clearly and effectively. Actively listen to questions, opinions and ideas of others. Use tact and diplomacy in sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Use correct English including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Set priorities and manage one’s own time effectively.
