The Engagement team offers seamless navigation and guidance across Rally helping users connect with the services they need to maintain and improve their health and make the best decisions. It enables employers by supporting their entire population's benefits and programs. The solutions include on-boarding, dashboards and resources, emails, SMS and content, the Rally app, third-party programs, and campaigns. As a Senior Software Engineer you will report to the Engineering Manager of the team. We recognize that people come from diverse backgrounds and skills and welcome all to apply.


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Build scalable systems, libraries, and frameworks

  • Work with your team to create test plans and ensure quality

  • Help automate our certification process

  • Monitor production systems and provide on-call support

Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of real industry experience

  • Background in statically typed compiled languages e.g. Java, C/C++, etc

  • Willingness to learn Scala

  • Unit testing experience

  • Commercial experience with distributed, high-performance systems

  • Experience with cloud-based services and hosting

  • Experience integrating with third party APIs, and the ability to understand them in multiple formats

  • Experience developing, maintaining, versioning, monitoring, and deploying APIs and web microservices

  • Experience with SQL, Document, or KeyValue databases.

  • Experience with Git

  • Experience with production monitoring and support


Preferred Qualification:



  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical role or the equivalent experience

  • Experience with AWS EC2

  • Experience with Scala

  • Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration

  • Experience with MongoDB

  • Experience with Postgres

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The Salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600. The Salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $87.900 to $156,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
