The primary role of Engineering function within Product Development team is to create specifications and designs for new products or improvements and enhancements to existing products. Candidate will embark on a journey of full product life cycle ownership in AWS.

Developers may solicit customers for feedback regarding product usability and desired future enhancements. Software Engineers who design, write and test code for the product should be matched in the either Software Engineering Applications or Systems. Product developers who specialize in hardware systems should be matched to Hardware Engineering.

- Primary Location: ResMed – Remote- preferred working onsite in San Diego, might be able to do relocation assistance, need to be able to work PST working hours if absolutely need to be remote

Serve as a technical leader:
- Mentoring team and be a subject matter expert in product and technical domains.
- Work closely with cross functional teams and have a great sense of product ownership.
- Provide technical guidance and constructive feedback to team members.
Apply expert knowledge:
- Tackle intrinsically hard problems in product architecture and identify dependencies and gaps.
- Stretch the boundaries and remove road block.
Design:
- Solutions and provide inputs to architectural quality and operational excellence.
- Execute prototype, discoveries, and spikes.
Hands-on:
- Developing and delivering critical features and capabilities to production with speed.
Bring expertise in cloud native application development:
- From AWS, evangelizing design principles and applying knowledge of the array of cloud services, technologies and software security in the cloud.
Bean automation & quality champion:
- With ownership on high quality delivery. Evangelize test driven development, test automation, CI/CD pipeline, system integration, performance, and security test. Instrument observability in production, and measure quality through application metrics. Advocate all types of engineering best practices.
Achieve operational excellence:
- Through operation as code, incremental changes that anticipate failure and learning from failures. Support on-call rotation, perform root cause analysis and identify improvement opportunities.
Dedicate:
- To patients and customers, designing with them at the forefront.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certification for developer or solutions architect is an asset.
- Experience with Terraform is a plus.
- AI/ML experience is an asset.
- Experience working in a regulated medical environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience developing in a variety of programming languages such as (Java, Python, JavaScript, Bash, etc.).
- Proven track record of building secure cloud native applications that are scalable, fault tolerant and resilient.
- Experience working with container technologies and server less services on AWS such as (Docker, Kubernetes, Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway, Dynamo DB, S3, etc.).
- Experience with message queueing and notification services such as (Amazon MQ, SQS, SNS, etc.).
- Experience with data streaming solutions such as (Kinesis, Timestream, Kafka, etc.)
- Experience in continuous integration and deployment with (Jenkins, Code Pipeline, etc.).
- Experience working with relational and NoSQL data services such as (RDS, Aurora, MongoDB, etc.).
- Experience with performance and chaos engineering.
- Experience with zero downtime deployment (blue/green, schema migration, etc.).
- Experience with instrumenting observability and alerts.
- Knowledge and experience in test automation with modern testing tools such as (Selenium, REST Assured, Postman, JMeter, etc.)
- Experience using tools and applications such as (JIRA, Confluence, Git, Nexus, Maven, etc.).
- Proven ability to seed new ideas, drive proof of concepts, create clarity from ambiguity, and collaborate with product teams to create clear visions and implement new solutions.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and effectively manage tasks to achieve objectives.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with recent coding experience in Java.
- At least 7+ years of professional software development experience, including with high volume cloud native applications and services.
