Position Summary: The Data Privacy Project Manager has responsibility in leading various data privacy projects as assigned by the Data Privacy Program Manager. The project manager will be expected to drive several high-profile projects associated with one of the corporation’s highest profile initiatives: Data Privacy. The Data Privacy Project manager will work closely with functional business groups to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of solutions deployed in support of business goals and objectives. Key Responsibilities: • Be proficient in running projects that align to the vision of the Data Privacy Program • Continuously improve project management tasks and milestones using feedback and lessons learned as input into existing or future project plans • Ensure project activities are well communicated prior to start, during, and after the project completes • Track accomplishments to show return on investment provided by the Data Privacy program such as risk reduction, regulatory compliance, data/system protection, identification of threats, and/or productivity gains • Present regularly to management on success of projects and Data Privacy Program initiatives, as well as escalate, explain, and most importantly offer solutions when risks/issues to projects are causing failure or inability to complete on time or budget. • Ensure identification, management, automation, and regular tracking of program metrics to support trend analysis and reporting • Lead the detailed planning and management of projects through to project completion • Ensure project milestones and targets are met by actively managing projects on a day to day basis through appropriate resource, issue, and risk management • Ensure appropriate tools and techniques are available and employed by the project teams to enable them to meet their assigned objectives successfully • Deliver the assigned projects to successful conclusion (on time, on budget, and in scope) • Assist or lead the development of business requirements, solution design & delivery, testing and training • Follow Project Management Framework and corporate processes to execute projects ensuring compliance with all deliverables and stage gate reviews • Maintain the appropriate metrics related to project activities and submit in accordance with current procedures • Comply with company’s Global IT Policies & Procedures • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management • Manage critical supplier and internal customer relationships • Maintain extensive knowledge and expertise in project management disciplines, • as well as multiple business processes and/or technical areas • Work with other Thermo Fisher team members to spread project management standards, disciplines and rigor • Perform other duties as assigned Requirements/Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Project • Management or Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience acceptable • PMP certification or equivalent experience • Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or Risk Management work experience highly preferred • ITIL Foundations V3 certification desired • 7+ years of related experience managing IT projects • Experience in delivery of successful Enterprise level IT Infrastructure projects including data center moves, security tools implementations, desktop refresh, database, network and/or server projects • Strong familiarity with project management standards and methodologies including PMI Body of Knowledge • Ability to balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of individual decisions • Strong problem-solving skills • Ability to understand the final result and to translate that result into actionable steps • Proven ability to lead a matrixed team of professionals to complete projects on time • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills • Strong interpersonal and excellent documentation skills • Able to assume and complete assignments independently • Ability to explain and champion technical concepts to a broad audience • Advanced knowledge in creating and maintaining management level and detailed project plans utilizing Microsoft products • Excellent customer service skills required • Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts • Excellent customer service skills required Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria: • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and time management skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • The ability to interact professionally with a diverse group: executives, managers, and subject matter experts • Experience in running large complex projects
