Job Description :

We're seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Senior IT Project Manager within the Office of Information Technology (OIT).

The ideal candidate will apply their knowledge of systems, infrastructure, networking and application support to help DPH with the construction expansion of their existing laboratory in the Atlanta metro area.  This expansion will require the lab stay fully operational during the expansion and require equipment and personnel be relocated in a phased approach as new constructed work areas are completed.  This position will require coordinating and working with other Project Managers and vendor contractors throughout the project.   Candidate should have experience in implementing new and existing infrastructure as part of a construction, renovation, or expansion project.  This position will require the candidate to spend most of their time performing work on-site.  The work site location is located off Clairmont road in Atlanta.   

Job Responsibilities:

•         Plans, organizes, and integrates cross-functional project deliverables as part of the construction expansion of the DPH Laboratory

•         Build and track a project schedule with key milestones, critical path dependencies and resource tracking.

•         Manages communication of status, issues, and project budget to teams, clients/vendors, and management to ensure key deliverables are met.

•         Manages project tasks (gathering requirements, facilitating design discussions, managing application development, testing, training, and roll-outs) as required to keep projects on track.

•         Manages issue, risk and decision logs and documents key business decisions

•         Build and presents project status reports/dashboards

•         Works flexible schedule to allow for special tasks that require after hours implementations, updates, or testing

•         Escalates key issues, risks and problems to leadership and helps build response plans to address

•         Manages strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.

•         Keeps project status and resource forecasts current in reporting tools.

•         Maintains technical and project documentation.

•         Provide customer service responsibilities, including managing expectations, communicating project status, and reporting on lessons learned and retrospective findings.

Job Qualifications:

5+ years experience performing in a project management role overseeing IT projects as part of new construction, renovations, or relocations

Experience working in a State Government environment deploying or maintaining IT systems

5+ years documenting systems, standard operating procedures, and/or governance documentation related to IT systems

3+ years experience business process improvements and performance business analysis

PMP Certification

Additional Skills Required:

•         Ability to consistently deliver results

•         Solves complex problems and drives action across the organization

•         Prior experience leading a Project Management Office

•         Ability to clearly define system requirements

•         Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education Required:   

•         Bachelor Degree from an accredited University in computer science, engineering, or related field

•         Agile/SCRUM certification, required.
