Position: Linux Systems Engineer/Administrator
Location: 100% remote role
Job Description:
The candidate will have a strong Linux Engineer/Administrator background, including strong bash skills and a good understanding of Unix fundamentals, with a focus on Red Hat and its variants. This seven person team supports all Linux, including AWS and the datacenter. Seating can be anywhere allowable by FINRA standards.
Desired Technical Skills:
• Bash: expert or high level. (A live coding exercise will be at the beginning of the interview.)
• Linux administration: expert or high level. (Red Hat/Centos/Amazon style)
• Sendmail and Satellite server experience is preferred, but neither is a daily activity.
• Designs, implements, customizes, maintains and administers operating systems and system software products.
• Python: general use, but the scripting focus will be on bash.
Bonus skills, or training opportunities:
• We use puppet, fab, and ansible to automate.
• Aws: ec2/ami/lb/vpc, ecs, eks, cloud design concepts, and usage fundamentals of IAM and S3.
• Ansible: Integration with AWS. Best practices and speed optimizations.
Soft Skills:
• The ideal candidate will take a senior role in organizing the logistics of the data center projects and maintenance.
