Role: Virtualization Engineer

Skills:
15 + years of experience as Infrastructure Architect / Engineer with deep knowledge of managing compute, storage and networking on standard server environments, virtualization platforms using various hypervisors and container technologies • 10+ years of experience in Linux based virtualization platforms such KVM, Zen, or similar Hypervisor • 5+ years of experience using open source container technologies such as LXC, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Pod Man, or similar • 3+ years of experience using commercial container technologies such as Kubernetes, ECS, ACS, GCS • 5+ years of experience with infrastructure and virtualization technologies on embedded and edge computing systems • 5+ years of experience building infrastructure for embedded and edge computing systems • 10+ years infrastructure on Linux/Unix based systems including security • Solid experience with containerization solutions and orchestration platforms, both on-prem and cloud based. • Solid experience Orchestration technologies like Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, CoreOS Fleet, etc. • Expertise in virtualization architecture using technologies (VMWare ESX, Red Hat, Hyper-V, etc • Expert hands on administration experience with VMware (ESX, ESXi/vSphere, vCenter, vMotion, DRS) and other virtualization technologies and concepts • Knowledge of multiple hardware platforms (Netapp, Nutanix, Cisco UCS, Nimble, etc. • Solid experience with templating and automation scripting (Chef, Python, Puppet, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, etc. • Professional experience working with PaaS and IaaS platforms – Azure, AWS, Google, OpenShift, Heroku, etc. • Solid understanding of essential TCP/IP protocols: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, and understanding of wider set protocols. • Solid understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, performance concepts (I/O, paging, swapping, system calls), iSCSI, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, firmware. • Strong experience with design, development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale systems, preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms • Extensive experience in performance tuning and optimizing computing platforms. • Experience working on Open Stack platform is a plus
