Description:
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Staff QA Engineer for its Financial Algorithms and Applications group in Santa Clara, CA.
This individual will test industry-leading sophisticated financial software The Staff FQA Engineer will collaborate closely with the Financial Algorithms and Applications team and will demonstrate leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
• Absolute transparency in all things testing related – including what was and was not tested, how each item is tested, and how far along the testing is for a given project.
• Understand complex Financial Algorithm Specifications and other Product Specifications
• Write detailed test documentation for the above
• Implement automated tests in our framework (currently Java – Junit)
• Support our team culture of having a reasonable work-life balance.
• Courteous and respectful in all communication at all times.
Requirements:
Soft Skills
• Excellent and proven communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work independently, as well as a part of a project team
• Operate with high integrity and ethical behavior
Technical Skills
• 3+ years of Quality Assurance experience in testing of multi-tiered, web-based environment,
• In-depth knowledge of all phases of development/test cycles (system, integration, regression, etc.)
• 2-5+ years of programming experience in Java.
• 1+ year experience with SQL
• High comfort level with writing project test plans and test cases
• Quantitative background sufficient to build test designs from financial algorithm specifications
• Master’s degree or PhD (preferred) in any STEM area

• Financial knowledge, preferably testing experience of financial applications

Note:
• A PhD degree in a quantitative discipline is an absolute requirement for this contract position.
• Role will be onsite in Santa Clara, CA. However, they will work remotely until mask mandates are lifted.
