Job Overview

eDataForce Client is currently looking for a Principal Unified Communications Engineer .  This position will be responsible for delivering communications and collaboration innovations to Client businesses. This position will help the organization to transform its workflows based on new capabilities and driving the adoption of new communications and collaboration technologies throughout the organization. This individual will work out of our new Frisco, Texas office and report to the Senior Manager, Communication and Collaboration

Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for collaboration tools, including keeping current with industry trends, vendor roadmaps, and platform features.
  • Develop and execute on UCC daily operations and long-term strategies
  • Provide input to long range planning and provide technical planning and support for new UCC technologies
  • Partner closely with Managed Services provider to ensure system and other service requests are met, serving as an escalation point for chronic problems.
  • Roadmap to transition from on-prem Exchange to a Cloud environment
  • Manages the design, documentation and creation of standard operating procedures and processes for operation and support for all collaborative technologies and activities, which include: PBX, call manager, telepresence, chat, instant messaging, desktop video, cloud video and other collaborative technologies.
  • Production and project support of voice network, MS O365 applications, and cloud-based communication solutions and platforms.
  • Educate business users on collaboration tools, policies, and best practices
  • Design, plan and execute Office 365 (O365) migrations, including Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, and secondary Office 365 services
  • Lead technical discussions with internal stakeholders that drive decisions and implementation requirements
  • Remain current on Microsoft 365 & Voice Modern Work services and capabilities, including availability, reliability, performance, operations, compliance, and security
  • Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Support the development of Office 365 strategy and roadmap deliverables
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to maximize O365 functionality and user experience
  • Research, design, develop, and deploy Microsoft 365 (M365) Modern Work solutions
  • Evaluate Office 365 changes and updates and determines impact on clients
  • Manage programs and large technical projects (Agile and Waterfall)
  • Lead the configuration, implementation, and migration of Office 365 capabilities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent related experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in collaboration systems planning, analysis, operations, and design. Minimum 2 years in a team lead or lead architect role
  • 1-2 years’ experience working with a managed service provider
  • Experience of Exchange Online/Teams/O365 in an enterprise environment is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of the relevant technologies (E.g. Microsoft AD 2016/2019, Azure AD, MS Teams, O365, EOP).
  • Thorough knowledge of UC systems including Cisco voice systems and video collaboration tools (including Webex and MS Teams)
  • Experience with wayfinding and digital signage technologies is a plus
  • Must have relevant and recent hands on experience and working knowledge across multiple voice, video, messaging, and conferencing / collaboration platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience leading daily operations and support of traditional and unified communications, and cloud-based solutions
  • Strong project management experience in handling multiple priorities, influencing across all levels of the organization, while executing on critical deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, customer facing skills, and a can-do attitude are required.
  • Excellent customer service and customer management skills.
  • Strong technical leadership is required.
