Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location:San Diego, CA (Remote for Now)

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Job Description:

Bachelors in Mechanical engineering with 6-12 years’ experience/ Masters in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years in Machine design. Semiconductor or Special Purpose Machine design experience preferred.

  • Must have current working experience of at least 2 years in Unigraphics NX and Team center Engineering.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes , welding, machined parts, sheet metal
  • Knowledge of Materials -Aluminum , stainless steel grades ,Plastics suitable
  • Choice of seals and design of components for sealing
  • Knowledge on finishing/coating processes like Anodizing, Nickel plating, electro polishing etc.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing applied to complex engineering drawings
  • Generate and maintain Bill of materials
  • Ability to create Manufacturing drawings without supervision and review
  • Strong in GD&T
  • Awareness of FEA and ability to work with FEA Analysts, provide inputs to them, review results with them and make improvement suggestions

Adding few more points for better clarity:

  • Review designs and feasibility studies, performdesign calculations
  • Providedesign and operational support of plant utility systems, including HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, chilled water, glycol, heating hot water, and emergency tempered water distribution systems.
  • Revise drawings, P&IDs, SOPs and develop test plans leveraging site project management and change control procedures.
  • Support the development of design, startup and test documents including User Requirement Specification, Functional Requirement Specification, commissioning and qualification test plans, as required.
  • Provide technical trouble shooting support usingRoot Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
  • Support proactive reliability assessments, including data collection, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), HAZOP analysis and process improvement initiatives.
