Looking for DevOps Engineer ( AWS and Kubernetes)===Must be IL Locals
Duration:6 months contract to hire
Location:Chicago- remote for covid but local only

Docker & Kubernetes experience in AWS environment (they need to be able tocontainerize a codebase on a framework)
Experience in software development (preferably with Laravel framework, but RoRwould be ok because it's also an environment file)

We are part of a vertically integrated firm developing technical solutions thatempower real estate brokerages, mortgage brokerages, title companies, andancillary related businesses to compete in the modern market. The product(s)being developed enable richer data analysis, lead development, individual andcorporate brand marketing, referral volume, and achievable goal setting, amongother things.
The Software Engineer is expected to contribute substantially to the successfuldevelopment of the product(s), as well as the successful deployment &maintenance of all code products on AWS, as well as the development andeconomical maintenance of our AWS ecosystem.
Specifically, contributions from the Intermediate Developer include:
Responding to requests from the Direct Immediate Supervisor (DIS) within atimely manner
Communicating any questions regarding job responsibilities or specific tasks tothe DIS in a timely manner
Perform tasks including but not limited to:
Front-end coding of User Interfaces (UI)
Back-end coding of processes, controllers, models, database interactions, etc.
Development or maintenance of public-facing websites, including templatedwebsites
Development of APIs and/or API interactions, including data feeds and SSO links
Interacting with domain registrars, hosting solutions, AWS, and other DevOpssolutions as needed in a responsible manner
Accurately estimating time-to-completion for any assigned task
Offering the expertise specifically regarding AWS DevOps, including but notlimited to:
Docker and Kubernetes configuration and deployment
Server instances running Linux for Apache
A dedicated MySQL/MariaDB database instance that interacts with both theprivileged platform and public websites
S3 integration
SQS
Load balancers
Security
Caching
Educating the development team re: Best Practices, subdomain additions, configuration, pricing, metering, etc.
Offering expertise beyond assigned tasks when warranted. Example: Challenging adesign if the employee can foresee an undesirable downstream issue it wouldcause

Everyone is 100% remote right now and it will stay that way for the foreseeablefuture
They have onboarded new hires remotely during COVID, and have had no issues
Interview process will be remote
Person will need to go into office at some point in 2021 though, so candidatemust be local

This is a new role for them - they have someone currently setting up the DevOpsinfrastructure, but it's not the person they need long term.
