Job Description:
Minimum 3 years experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Data Engineer, BI Technical Lead or similar role:
- Specific, recent experience designing and deploying data infrastructure components in a cloud environment (e.g. AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Specific, recent experience deploying cloud infrastructure in a devops environment using 'infrastructure-as-code' tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Experience working with event-driven data architectures, including queueing and publish/subscribe methodologies.
Nice to Have:
- In-depth understanding of database structure principles
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design or domain-driven design
- Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
- Knowledge of data modeling and data warehouses
- Strong expertise in SQL and Workday (experience with cloud databases such as Amazon Redshift preferred)
- Familiarity with object relational models (ORM)
- Proven analytical skills
- Problem-solving attitude
Additional details:
- This position will work consultatively with IT and business partners to define, express, and maintain a data model to support UW-Madison s Ancillary Systems Program initiative.
Perform analysis and testing of relational databases and investigate any data load failures or data retrieval issues. Key responsibilities include:
