Title:  Senior Product Manager, Skilled Services

Department:   Product Development 

Reports To:      Vice President, Product Development

Position Description:

A Sr. Product Manager, leads and manages agile team resources to define, groom, develop and test deliverables to realize project goals.  Responsible for delivering projects within established scope, budget and timeframe.   Communicates project progress and challenges to all participants including executives, department leads, and other key stakeholders as required. The Sr. Product Manager establishes a project framework in terms of timeline, participants, roles, milestones and interim and final deliverables. The Sr. Project Manager reports to the Vice President of Product Development and may work with all levels of the Client Care Team.

 

This position is located in Client’s Corporate Headquarters located in Gurnee, Illinois

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Vice President Product Development, VP of Client Technology Group and other executives in establishing project prioritization and timeframes.
  • Collaborates with Vice President Product Development to establish business case for the project and feasibility based on resources, scope and timeframe.
  • Collaborates with Vice President Product Development in the development of contingency plans, managing project changes.
  • Leads the development, tracking and reporting of project updates on a weekly basis using Agile methodology.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of project scope, cost and schedule.
  • Leads project status meetings and create meeting minutes (Attendees, Summary, Action Items/Owners, Next Meeting, etc.) and follows up to make sure everything gets done as committed.
  • Establishes and implements the processes and procedures to manage the project lifecycle: establishing and tracking project milestones, identifying and resolving project issues, assessing and managing project risk.
  • Prepares and presents reports containing metrics designed to assess individual and overall departmental project performance and efficiency.
  • Prepares and presents weekly status reports to Vice President Product Development detailing the progress and issues associated with active projects.
  • Clarifies project roles and responsibilities and assigns project deliverables according to project plan.
  • Participates in communication flow; oversees project staffing; oversees project deliverables.
  • Managed process for changes in scope request and customer defect and backlog enhancements.  Establishes new project deliverables and timeline based on approved changes to scope.
  • Maintains project schedules in Microsoft Project or Excel.
  • Documents business customer requirements as needed.
  • Prepares content for Learning and Development modules, skilled cohorts and other training activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and eight years of experience of project management required. PMP Certification required.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, team building and relationship management skills required.
  • Must have prior healthcare experience. Implementation experience with EPIC, Cerner or other similar electronic record is preferred.
  • Must be able to collaborate with Client Technical Group disciplines and business stakeholders for the creation and evaluation of business cases, requirements, schedules, quality assurance, training and communication plans.
  • Must demonstrates excellent skills with Microsoft Office, especially Project, Word and Excel. 
  • Must have experience leading large scale projects and change management initiatives.
  • Must have strong ability to communicate technology matters to business partners, senior executives, and strategic partners.  Must be able to present thoughts and opinions clearly and promptly at all levels.
  • Must be able to manage schedules and manage change.
  • Must demonstrates a deep understanding of metrics associated with project performance.
  • Must have fantastic follow up skills.
  • Must have experience working with custom software and managing software release deployments.
  • Must have experience working with Agile development methodology.
  • ScrumMaster Certification is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Jira is a plus.
