Position: Python scripting Engineer
Location: Charlottesville, VA OR Remote (Due to the virus issues)
Duration: 12+months
Mainly we want someone to be good with Python, Linux, and shell scripting and thinking through problems. NodeJS would be desirable.
8+years of experience
Must have: Hand on developer: Python, Shell scripting, Linux developer…technically hands on …will work closely with researchers.
Flexibility in working on various skills….time flexibility
Job Description:
Developers will collaborate with researchers and other programmers at UVA and interface with the Persistent offshore team to develop software applications, analyze large datasets and develop, execute, and maintain research software. Candidates with a strong desire to learn a multitude of technologies and programming languages with a can-do attitude will thrive in this role.
The position requires problem-solvers able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment alongside other engineers and developers
Must Have:
Hands on Tech architecture and development with 8+ years of experience.
Developing applications in programming languages such as Python. Should have experience in developing application backend using Python libraries & packages
Knowledge of Shell scripting
Desired skills:
Experience in developing Java based applications involving usage of J2EE frameworks like Spring, Hibernate
Postgres, PostGIS,
ESRI experience
Creating Visualization using any one of frameworks : D3, HighCharts, AmCharts or any other JS based Visualization framework
UI technologies - JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS3, Angular, Backbone, Bootstrap, JQuery, REACT 16
