Job Title: Project Manager 

Need local to CT 

Onsite Location and local to CT only

The successful candidate will perform duties as designated by the HITO to lead and

manage health information technology initiatives that advance the strategic goals of the

agency. This is a unique role where you will work extensively on planning and supporting

committees, facilitating workgroups and vendor management. In this dynamic role

weekly priorities, and assignments can vary depending on need. The successful candidate

will be a senior project manager with at least five years of experience overseeing projects

that include health information technology strategy and analysis. Preference will be given

to candidates with knowledge and experience in Health IT policies, emerging

issues/trends, Health IT subject matter expertise, including technology, architecture,

operations, policies and procedures, governance models, privacy and security, trust

agreements, and state and national level policies and emerging trends.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

At least five years of experience overseeing projects that include health

information technology infrastructure and analysis.

Experience developing or overseeing health information exchange or related

health data infrastructure.

Strong data analytics skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

At least five years of experience at a senior level in healthcare-related collaborative projects that involve multiple stakeholders in both the public and

private spheres.

Experience with state and federal government programs, particularly in

Connecticut.

Strong managerial skills including the project management of staff, consultants

and other vendors.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in a senior role at OHS to help develop goals and strategies to advance the

agency’s mission.

Assist the HITO with the oversight of statutory and ad hoc committees, commissions,

workgroups focused on health IT matters, implementation of the statewide health IT plan

and the administration of the statewide HIE.

Provide highly skilled technical and management oversight and assistance to coordinate tasks across multiple teams and respond to inquiries related to the assigned

projects/workgroups/committees. Manage and implement of components of the statewide

health IT plan

Plan, facilitate and manage meetings including council meetings, workgroup meetings,

strategic planning meeting, regular check-ins meetings etc.

Engage with a wide range of stakeholders for planning, strategizing, coordinating,

facilitating, problem resolution, and risk management. Collaborate with other state officials

to implement a state health information technology plan.

Develop materials including agendas, goals, objective timelines, presentations, work

tasks/project plan details, updates, statuses, action items, meeting minutes, and summary

documents.

Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends on an as

needed bases

Manages internal/external communications including for public meetings

Assist the HITO in oversight of the contractual activities of the statewide Health Information

Exchange; developing uniform health information and data standards;

Help manage Health Information Technology vendor supporting OHS

In a matrix staffing environment, work with state and contracted staff to perform the HIT

functions of OHS

Assist in other related activities as requested by the HITO
