Position: Project Manager

Location: Augusta, ME

Duration: 6 months (Extendable)

 

Either Webcam Interview or In Person

 
Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing scope details and schedule metrics to Lead Project Manager on recurring basis
• Responsible to work with the MaineIT PMO for any additional resource needs to execute and complete the project initiatives
• Responsible for the development of estimates for the enhancement or development effort in planning, analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation.
• Accountable for delivery of all work tasks identified in the project plan.
• Responsible for the capture and reporting of required project management metrics.
• Adjust and revise estimates when necessary.
• Ensure all changes to scope follow processes and are documented.
• Ensure new estimates are approved by the client and agreed upon.
• Adjust and revise estimates when necessary.
• Manage, and track the project progress against the project plan.
• Monitor project milestones and phases to ensure the project is on schedule. Take corrective actions if a project begins to slip its schedule.
• Prepares status reports on a periodic basis for project team, team leads, group leads, and Project Manager and appropriate stakeholders.
• Plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple work efforts across application teams.
• Develop the detailed project plan for the enhancement or development effort
• Accountable for the final project management evaluation review with stakeholders for approval upon project completion.
• Accountable to schedule or monitor status reviews, peer reviews, project management inspections, and software quality assurance work product and process reviews with the appropriate designated resources.
• Notify team leads and the PMO of project timelines, milestones, phases, work requests target dates, and approved executable work package.
• Analyze and distribute reports on project metrics associated with work items related to improvement measures to the client and the PMO
• Accountable for management of scope for the project and gaining agreement and approval of scope changes with customer representatives and affected stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and customer representatives.
• Direct work planning and scheduling design work.
• Manage, and track the project progress against the project plan.
• Identify and manage project risk and develops risk mitigation strategies, track to closure.
• Ensure team leads adjust and revise estimates when necessary.
• Anticipate issues and proactively address them in consultation with Lead Project Manager. Resolve conflicts with sensitivity and tact.
• Responsible for project compliance with standards and procedures, as defined by MaineIT PMO.
• Responsible for the capture and reporting of required project management metrics.
• Responsible to tailor and baseline all project templates.
• Accountable for the final project management evaluation review with stakeholders for approval upon project completion.
• Identify and track issues.
• Communicate to team members how their work assignments relate to and help achieve project objectives.
• Plan project specific training and orientation needs.
Skill 1: project planning

Preferred:
• Experience gathering level of effort data as related to scope of project
• Experience in developing all required assets to execute a project plan: Scope & Schedule Mgmt plan, Risk Mgmt plan, Resource plan, Communication plan
• Experience developing core project monitor, control, and communication tools: schedule, risk log, status reporting
• Experience with individual project manager contribution within larger project responsibilities
