The candidate will need to possess strong knowledge information technology and applicable commercial solutions; and have significant experience designing and developing technical solutions.
The candidate will provide technical leadership and support in the areas of IT planning, solution specification/design, and target architecture development. May provide technical guidance for Solution Architects and technical/functional subject matter experts.
Develops and maintains business, systems, and information processes to support enterprise platform needs; develops information technology (IT) rules and requirements that describe baseline and target architectures. Ensures that the stakeholder requirements necessary to support the Platforms mission and business processes so they are adequately addressed in all aspects of enterprise architecture including reference models, segment and solution architectures, and the resulting systems supporting those Platform missions and business processes in accordance with the Commonwealth Standards.
The scope of the Enterprise Architect Program (EAP) encompasses all activities related to establishing and implementing a formal and proactive approach for conducting enterprise analysis including the review of proposed designs and technical solutions for suitability. This also includes design, planning and implementation for the successful development and execution of strategy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Work with the supplier architect leads to understand and design to customer strategic planning
Develop solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; and investigating problem areas.
Participate and drive the timely review of system implementation and enhancement requests and new technology requirements that are submitted for introduction to the Platform. The Platform Architect will consult and work with supplier architects, information security and MSI engineers to Review proposed designs and technical solutions for suitability.
Recommend technical, organizational, and functional improvements to systems and processes to further SA capabilities and value-add. Lead solution design sessions as required and the development of key artifacts including, but not limited to architectural models, process diagrams, concepts of operation, etc.
Drive the Agency toward a unified and integrated enterprise environment, Identify ways to provide enhanced Program oversight to ensure appropriate oversight of Platform architecture.
Strong critical thinking and analysis capabilities Desired Qualifications + MA/MS in Computer Science or Engineering Experience with Enterprise Architecture.
Understanding of Government enterprise architecture concepts
Experience:
Experience architecting and/or leading Infrastructure & application modernization initiatives
Experience with Enterprise Architecture tools
Experience in driving the enterprise architecture strategy, methodology and standards that delivers enterprise data model, associated Meta model common business vocabulary and taxonomies
Hands-on experience in applying advanced enterprise architecture/design concepts to include premise based infrastructure and cloud computing platforms and services.
Knowledge of data architecture approaches (e.g., TOGAF), industry standards, and best practices (e.g., DMBOK)
Experience with developing, communicating, and deploying enterprise architecture governance processes ensuring they are fair, consistent, and transparent to guide enterprise architecture decision-making, considering other Government equities
Experience with translating client business issues/opportunities into technical solution/business requirements and then communicate the value proposition of the end to end solution
IT/Enterprise architect certification from the Open Group, FEAC, or other industry recognized program
Experience as an Enterprise Architect, including 10-years proven experience in design and implementation of Business Enterprise Architectures within the private or public sector
Experience with conducting regular briefings, explaining emerging IT developments or deployment plans and relevant budget or technical impacts
