Job Summary:
The Oracle VM Consultant will install, configure, and maintain Oracle VM Manager and perform systems management in conjunction with Linux systems administration, networking teams, application development and database management teams. Key activities will include OS management, OVM management and system administration and maintenance. The environment is very diverse with leading technologies that includes a mixture of Oracle x86 and Engineered Systems.
Required Skills and Years of Experience:
Oracle VM System Administration 5 years
Oracle Linux System Administration 5 years
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Oracle VM Responsibilities
Install, Configure, and Maintain Oracle VM Manager and Guest VM''s
Import Virtual Machine images and ISO files using Oracle VM Manager
Create and use Oracle VM Templates, Shared Virtual Disks, Storage Pools, and Shared Repositories
Create and maintain OVS Agents and guest configuration files
Create Clone Definitions and use to create VM Clones
Configure Networking, Network Bonding, and Maintain Oracle VM VNIC Manager
Oracle Linux Responsibilities:
Oracle Linux Administration
Install Oracle Linux on any supported architecture
Create partitions, software RAID and LVM storage configurations
Install, update, and remove RPM packages with the rpm & yum commands
Configure printers with CUPS
Create, delete, and configure user and system accounts and groups
Configure Linux systems to use centralized authentication and user information stores for system logins
Work Effort:
Stand up new Dev, Test, UAT, and PROD environments at HQ and CDC.
Assist with performance tuning for initial installation
