Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Troubleshoot, resolve, and document issues within the network in a timely manner.
Design, implement and validate configurations while providing a highly reliable network with minimal downtime.
Establishes the company’s network environment by designing infrastructure configuration; directing installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
Maximizes network performance through design and configuration of monitoring tools; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with other IT resources on network optimization.
Works closely with the Information Security team to secure the network by establishing and enforcing policies, defining, and monitoring access.
Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information, and managing projects.
Configure and setup Firewalls, VPN Concentrators and Security appliances for access to vital business applications.
Design, setup and configure complex switching environments.
Design, setup and configure complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications.
Maintain a thorough understanding of Local and Wide Area Network and security architectures.
Assist in the design of multi-server environments including IP address schemes, DNS, and hierarchical network design.
Maintaining multi-site network operations and software applications, operating systems, and regular maintenance with both private and public facilities.
Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
Responding to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Supervising the administration of the company’s network infrastructure to ensure availability of services to authorized users.
Troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, telephones, and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
Provide 24/7 availability and participate in on-call rotation.
Create and maintain network documentation.
Disaster Recovery maintenance.
Accept and monitor fault calls.
Running daily back-up and resilience testing.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology or equivalent job experience.
5+ years LAN/WAN experience in a Cisco environment.
Trading or FCM network experience preferred.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Occasional travel may be required.
Strong technical, analytical and interpersonal skills that include the ability to communicate in a polite and friendly manner, both written and verbal.
Advanced Cisco certifications, such as CCNP/CCNDP or CCIE are beneficial.
Knowledge of VoIP implementation and support.
Maintain network security through proper configuration of VPN and Firewalls.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a small business environment.
Availability in response to needs of the customer for installation, maintenance and equipment malfunctions during off hours when needed.
Demonstrates a strong knowledge and competence of standard concepts, best practices, and operational procedures.
A natural sense of urgency, initiative, and a positive team player philosophy to be reflected in daily work ethics; ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
