Location: Downtown Dallas. Locals and under 60 miles required for Hybrid work model
Summary
Incumbents will serve in a key role providing expertise in a broad range of responsibilities in the AMS RF mesh network. Candidate will be familiar with the AMS network design and architecture and will generally work independently under normal supervision. Incumbents will participate in discussions with vendors and service providers in order to assist in the diagnosis and resolution of network problems. Incumbents will have a general knowledge of design standards, applicable regulations, and codes and will strengthen these skills as they work within this level. Incumbents will be familiar with and gain an increased knowledge of the technical support requirements and procedures for the specific technologies and equipment supported including the provisioning of services, system documentation requirements, and asset management requirements. Incumbents will be responsible for designing technical solutions that meet the needs of the client while following industry standards and internally instituting these standards within IT. Incumbents will conduct trend analysis and capacity analysis to anticipate changes in the business environment and take appropriate action. Incumbents are expected to keep abreast of changing telecommunications regulations and technologies.
Key Roles & Responsibilities Directly or through others, the incumbent:
Keeping abreast of technology changes, evaluating and recommending network components and developing documentation and installation standards for these components
Updating system and procedure documentation for all network hardware on the document database
Utilize WMIS to create Work Request, report on materials assigned, and schedule work.
Utilize AEGIS to identify locations for router and collector surveys, create installation designs, add materials as needed, and integrate with the WMIS system
Leverage Tableau to analyze AMS data and create dashboards and worksheets
Planning and implementing changes to the Transport network to ensure adherence to all Change Management policies and procedures
Striving to resolve all problems on the first attempt and to identify the root cause of every problem
Work with various groups within the company to resolve communications issues to meters, routers, collectors, modems and many other communications devices
Provide support to OTT for Lower Environment communications networks
Support firmware upgrades of ~3.7M meters, routers and collectors for AMS network
Adhering to safe work practices to support the goal of no reportable accidents within IT
Coordinate with various field resources / technicians on troubleshooting, scheduling, testing, etc. activities
Support all distribution automation devices that backhaul via the AMS RF Mesh Network
Being on call the transport network is a 24x7 operation and all personnel will be on call in the event of a problem
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
Education: Technical or Advanced degree
The minimum skill requirements are:
General knowledge of Telecommunications Network Design and Architecture, Equipment Technologies, Standards and Regulatory Requirements, General IT Knowledge
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications( Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), SQL or other DB Mgmt languages, SharePoint and Internet/Intranet applications
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
WMIS and AEGIS is a plus
Tableau is a plus
