Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Denver, CO

Pay rate: $50/hr W2
Job Description:

  • Ability to work off-hours, on-call and during holidays
  • Understand the triage and service level agreement policies for the tickets and resolve issues within the given time frame when possible.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of complex IP router/switch, telecom communications equipment, hardware or configuration issues, within defined service level agreement periods in support of Lumen contracted customer base.
  • Identifies capacity and performance issues to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of all supported network hardware and related systems.
  • Layer 2 & 3 Cisco router, switch, Adtran, Juniper, firewalls, and ASR management experience.
  • Provide high-level technical support for troubleshooting and service restoration in accordance with an understanding of switching & routing technologies.
  • Use of software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose network status and problems.
  • Acts as a liaison between the customer and other network vendors (e.g. Cisco & Juniper), as well as network vendors (Telecommunication, Telecommunication) on high-level or escalated support issues.
  • Demonstrate direct customer interaction through exceptional communication skills, both written & orally with the use of technical concepts, practices, and terminology.
  • Documents all activities per defined processes & procedures.
  • Driven to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Requires limited direction and guidance with most tasks.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience in a data/voice network and/or telecom environment (1-2 years MES experience)
  • CCNA or equivalent certification, working towards professional-level certification (CCNP)
  • Shows continued training in this platform
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunication, Networking or related field (preferred not required)
  • ITIL certification (preferred not required)
  • Experience in data and/or voice troubleshooting as an SME (Subject Matter Expert)
