Engagement Length in Months:

5.5  months

Services are expected to start 11/15/2021 and are expected to complete by 04/30/2022. Total estimated hours per Candidate shall not exceed 400 hours. This service may be amended, renewed, and/or extended providing both parties agree to do so in writing. A renewal option for up to 6 months is possible and will be determined as project is near completion. 

Summary of duties:

Implement network topology for new construction projects to include but not limited to: Verification of existing network construction design, identify gaps in the network design and make recommendations for solutions and implement any new network requirements. Plan and managed project at various turn-up stages, Inventory and ensure network equipment received to date matches required equipment to finish project and identify equipment need gaps so that orders are processed in a timely manner. Configure network equipment and assist with equipment installation ahead of time to meet project timelines. Confirm that new networks match and work with existing network topology, provides future scalability, growth, and redundancy. Update network diagrams to include any new network topologies implemented. 

Candidate should have a high degree of knowledge and experience with Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco network equipment, Routing protocols to include BGP, hub and spoke network designs, vLANS and Subnetting. Provide subject matter expertise for future scalability design, deficient design risks, and other expertise as requested.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • 10 years of experience with Cisco network solutions and standing up and configuring switches and routers
  • 8 years of experience designing of networks to include BGP, hub and spoke, routing protocols, vLANS, subnetting and other like network topologies.
  • 8 years of standing up and configuring Firewalls, documenting and updating Network drawings, gap analysis of network designs and scalability recommendations, Identify design deficiencies, and reading architectural design plans

Preferable Skills:

  • 5 years of experience installing network equipment, managing major network infrastructure projects, and experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.

Additional Information

It is highly desirable this person be in the Austin area as this work will require walkthroughs of construction job sites, wearing a hard hat/boots, requires lifting of network equipment, and timely attendance. Job does not always require onsite attendance and teleworking may be appropriate at times. Work schedule will vary depending on project phase.

Work Attire: Work boots required on construction sites. Hard hat and vest will be provided by TFC
