Role: DevOps Engineer

Location: Collegeville, PA

Contract or CTH, 6 months in initial length                                                                  

Client is the leading platform for business continuity and disaster recovery planning and response.

They are in search of a DevOps Engineer to join their expanding team.

In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our systems and;.


Help automate and streamline our operations and processes.
Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations.
And troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments.


This is a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for formulating approaches to customer needs in a standard, scalable way.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


Support, maintain, and develop capabilities in multiple cloud environments
Optimize platform for maximum speed and scalability
Perform root cause analysis for production systems
Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management
Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management
Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve
Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improvement development delivery
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and processes
Define and implement security standards, processes and tools as it pertains to the software and infrastructure
Participate in internal security reviews and assessments
Assist in completion of external security assessments
Interface with customers and third party vendors as needed
Support office IT as needed including office network and desktop support




Minimum Qualifications:


3 to 5 years Linux and/or Windows System administration experience
Experience with cloud platforms and virtualization, specifically AWS and Azure
Experience with Software Development and the Software Development Lifecycle
Experience with Agile methodologies
Well versed in architecture of applications on AWS and Azure including experience in designing for high availability, building multi-AZ and multi-region architectures, and data layer/messaging technologies
Experience designing and maintaining firewalls, NAT rules, AWS VPCs, and Azure VNets
Knowledge of networking technologies (Layer 2 & 3 switches, TCP/IP, SNMP, etc
Familiarity with continuous deployment methodology, common DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Capistrano, and configuration tools such as Chef, Puppet, and Ansible
Scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python, Ruby, PHP, PowerShell, etc.
Familiar with the Java application stack including Apache Tomcat
Firm grasp on AWS native cloud security leveraging Linux and Windows operating systems, using the AWS console and CLI
Experience with infrastructure, security and application monitoring tools such as Alert Logic, DataDog, etc.
Excellent verbal, presentation and written communications skills.
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
