Description

Seeking an EDC specialist as a key member of the data governance and data quality team, performing a variety of roles. This assignment is 50% onsite / 50% remote work. Candidate can be at any location in US and would need to visit Helena (Montana) every alternate week. Travel expenses are paid.

Candidate will be responsible for:


Designing, managing and maintaining Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog tool
Defining data standards and enabling of appropriate operational and technical capabilities to support, monitor and remediate issues
Leading discussions around data standards and facilitate reviews with key stakeholders
Participating in implementations critical to the success of the Data Governance policy




Responsibilities:


Management of Enterprise Glossary through the review of common business terms and definitions and continuous assessments to ensure data adheres to Data Governance Standards
Collect data issues across the meta data ecosystem; work with business owners and data stewards to remediate issues (quality or gaps)
Create a highly structured and comprehensive control environment to assure that content within the catalog is remains in high quality
Define meta data processes and controls; work with appropriate stakeholders to implement solutions
Development and configuration of Informatica EDC resources, data lineage, custom resources, custom data lineage, relationships, data domains, data domain groups and composite data domains.
Administration and management of Informatica EDC tool, user groups, permissions Configuration of Data profiling and data lineage Work with Data Owners, stewards and various stakeholders to understand EDC requirements, and configure it in the tool
Drive the documentation of processes in accordance with defined enterprise Standards, procedures, and controls
Design metrics to measure Policy Compliance, Governance Adoption and Catalog Quality
Perform ad hoc analytics for projects/initiatives surrounding the catalog
Assist in setting formal standards, policies and processes regarding data stewardship, governance and management
Participate in the design and development of enhanced features of the data governance toolkit




Skills Required:


Has at least 2-5 years of experience in Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog
Experience with administrative, migration and product upgrades in EDC space; should be experienced with EDC installation and configuration setup Experience in admin activities in Linux environment
Well versed with metadata extraction from wide range of resources
Ability to understand data models, data taxonomy, and a deep appreciation of data standards and data quality
Strong understanding of enterprise data management concepts, principles and practices
Deep understanding of advanced Data Governance, architecture and quality
Past experience in data governance activities - particularly corresponding to data lineage, data catalog, data discovery, metadata management
Past experience of working with big data is essential
Demonstrated track record of success in delivering Master Data Governance
Previous hands-on experience with industry Governance, design, data quality tools, and reporting toolsets
Previous hands-on knowledge of enterprise data governance tools and data profiling tools
Proven ability to interview, evaluate processes and perform root cause analysis that is leading to data quality issues
Ability to work in a dynamic cross-functional teams including business teams, solution architects and data engineers
Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to inform, interpret, assess and deliver thorough analysis in both written and verbal form
