Position: Big Data Engineer Location: Durham, NC Duration: 6+ months contract to hire Required Skills: 1. Bachelor' s degree or higher in a technology related field (e. g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc required 2. 10+ years of hands-on experience in architecting, crafting and developing highly scalable distributed data processing systems 3. 3+ years of experience in Hadoop ecosystem (Spark, Hive, Sqoop, etc and experience in one or more modern Object-Oriented Programming languages (Java, Scala, Pythonlt; /p> 4. Proficient in Oracle, pl/sq. and performance tuning 5. Hands on experience in Informatica 6. Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (Jenkins, Stash) and must have executed projects in Agile environments (Kanban and Scrumlt; /p> 7. You enjoy analyzing data, identifying gaps, issues, patterns and trends and can analyze application dependencies and conduct impact assessment of changes 8. Good understanding of database design concepts - Transactional / Data mart / Data warehouse etclt; /p> 9. Experience with cloudera distributed version of Hadooplt; /p> 10. Experience with shell scripting, control M 11. Willing to participate on weekend on call rotation 12. Extremely good interpersonal skills with ability to work with multi-functional teams located across geographies 13. Good interpersonal and client-handling skills with the ability to manage expectations and explain technical detail 14. Proven ability to multitask, prioritizes tasks, and quickly adjusts in a rapidly changing environmentlt; /p> 15. Ability to handle complex information with accuracy and attention to detail 16. Excellent conflict management and negotiation skills 17. High level of commitment, initiative, vision and enthusiasm and professional approach to time, costs and deadlines Desired Skills (not required but candidate will have exposure to these skills in this role): 1.
